How the Leaderboard Leagues Work
Five leagues, weekly promotion & relegation, and a 10-week season.
Every player is placed into one of five leagues, from beginner all the way up to the very best players on Anytime Soccer Training. Each league has its own leaderboard, ranked by training minutes.
Champions League
The top tier. 50 players. Bottom 5 each week are relegated to the Development Cup. One champion is crowned at the end of the season.
Development Cup
Top 5 each week earn promotion to the Champions League. Bottom 5 are relegated to the Community Cup.
Community Cup
Top 5 each week earn promotion to the Development Cup.
Anytime Academy
Top 5 each week earn promotion to the Community Cup.
Grassroots
Where every new or returning player starts. Train 10+ minutes in a week to earn promotion up to Anytime Academy.
Where does a new or beginner player start?
Every new player starts in Grassroots. As soon as they train 10+ minutes in a single week, they’re promoted up to Anytime Academy.
How does a player move up through the leagues?
Every Monday, standings are checked and players move automatically: the top 5 players in Academy, Community Cup, and Development Cup are promoted one level up. In the Champions League, the bottom 5 players are relegated down to the Development Cup to make room. It’s a rolling weekly process, not something a player has to request.
How does the season work? Does everything reset to zero?
A season runs 10 weeks.
At the end of week 10, the top 3 players in the Champions League, Development Cup, and Community Cup are announced as season champions, runners-up, and third place — each earns a badge and a congratulations email.
A new season then begins right away. Players keep the league they’re currently in — nobody gets sent back down to Grassroots at season’s end.
Only each player’s training-minutes count resets to zero for the fresh season.
What does the Champions League winner get at the end of the season?
The Champions League winner (and the 2nd and 3rd place finishers) receive a special badge on their profile and a congratulations email recognizing their achievement for the season.
